It delivers an average of over 216 MB/sec reading speed, and over 121 MB/sec writing under RAID 5 configuration in a Windows® environment.1

RS815 comes with dual LAN failover support to ensure continual network service in case of LAN failure, while the hot-swappable design facilitates easy and risk-free hard drive replacement. The hard drive tray lock design further secures your hard drives from unauthorized or accidental withdrawal.

RS815 optimizes your working experiences by enabling faster and more efficient data transfers. To ensure scalability, RS815 provides an eSATA and two USB 3.0 interfaces in the back to speed up data transfer with Synology expansion unit and external hard drives.

Robust scalability up to 8 drives

When the storage capacity of RS815 is nearing its limit, additional storage can be easily added with Synology RX4152 expansion unit which provides room for an additional 32TB volume, allowing for a total raw capacity of 64TB3 . Equipped with specially-designed locking connectors, Synology RX415 can be securely connected to RS815 via an eSATA cable.

Enjoy seamless files sharing across Windows®, Mac®, and Linux® platforms as RS815 offers comprehensive network protocol support including FTP, SMB2, AFP, NFS and WebDAV. With Windows AD and LDAP integration, RS815 can fit effortlessly into any existing network environment - there is no need for IT administrators to maintain two sets of credentials. You also won't worry about missing files with the Recycle Bin feature which is supported on AFP, CIFS, File Station, and WebDAV. All files deleted in a shared folder will be automatically moved into the Recycle Bin.
